Fodor's Review:
Perfect for a midday snack, this café with exposed wooden beams and whitewashed walls serves tasty pastries and huge glass mugs of freshly made mate de coca. It's a popular place with artsy types. Evenings transform Varayoc -- the name comes from the ceremonial staff wielded by rural mayors -- into the consummate Swiss restaurant. Crepes and fondues are the house specialties.
