Part of a Peruvian minichain of hotels, the high-rise Don Carlos caters to business travelers in town from elsewhere in the country. The hotel is modern in its furnishings -- all rooms are done in cream and maroon -- but as with even new hotels in Cusco, rooms are arranged around a central patio, glassed-in in this case. That, and the double-paned windows, keep it comfortably warm at night.
