Gringo Bill's Worst hotel ever!

I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world but by far this was the worst. We stayed here for two nights and had to change rooms for the second night. In the first room the bed and sheets were damp and not exactly clean, the blankets were extremely grubby, the room was freezing cold and there were bugs. I slept almost fully clothed because I did not want any part of my body touching the bedclothes. The second night we were moved to a room that was overlooking the main stairwell and the huge window looking onto the stairwell had a curtain that would not close all the way. This room at least did not have bugs and the sheets were not damp although they were no cleaner. Also the noise level was horrific! We heard people coming and going all night and when a group of tourists left at 5am we heard (and felt) every bump of their suitcase wheels hitting the steps all the way down the stairs. Not to mention the fact that we heard every word they said! And as for the breakfast buffet! This was by far the worst meal I had in Peru. The rolls were days old, the fruit was mushy and service was horrendous. I would rather sleep on the street than ever set foot in Gringo Bill's again!

Subpar Hostal

Staff is harried and unhelpful and rooms are absolutely not worth the cost. It is definitely a backpackers hostal and nothing more, yet it costs the same as a regular hotel. Do yourself a favor and book anywhere else.
