Though dance places levy a cover charge, there's usually someone out front handing out free passes to tourists -- highly discriminatory, but in your favor, of course. Most of the dance locales cater to a decidedly under-thirty crowd. Bars frequently position someone in front to entice you in with a coupon for a free drink, but that drink is sometimes made with the cheapest, gut-rottingest alcohol the bar has available. There are a few reports of patrons getting sick. Splurge and pay full price for a real drink.
