Regency-style fabrics, carved-wood furniture, and Oriental rugs make this one of the city's most elegant hotels, and a refurbishing has made the place gleam again. You'll sink into the carpeting in the huge, plush, brightly furnished rooms accented with wood carvings and Paraguayan art. The three-story Excelsior Mall is across the street.

My boss was landing on christmas day and due to flight delays, I had to change his hire car and taxi connections. I was pulling my hair out trying to do this over long distant calls - with poor phone lines and car rental and taxi staff speaking poor English. He was booked into the Excelsior and I phoned them to change his arrival time, too. They have staff speaking impeccable English, and changed not just his room reservation, but phoned the car rental and taxi companies for me too. All this on Christmas Eve ! There service, attention to detail and willing ness to go above and beyond the call of duty was incredible, and particularly apreciated in a country like Paraguay. I highly recommend this hotel - to support you for your entire stay.
