The owners here come from Palermo, but are decade-plus veterans of life on the islands. They've brought Sicilian and southern Italian cusine, and the pastas are a nice change of pace from Puerto Ayora's ubiquitous seafood, but do try the seafood fettucine with mushrooms and cognac sauce.
This popular restaurant is run by the offspring of one of the pioneer families of Galápagos. Its outdoor tables attract both tourists and locals. The menu, which is heavy on seafood, also includes a few chicken and pasta dishes. Next door is the popular discotheque La Panga, where salsa music plays until the lights go out or the last patron leaves.
The first restaurant you'll encounter as you step off the boat in Port Ayora, this place has a small outdoor patio. The menu offers a wonderful selection of lobster dishes served in large portions; the grilled steaks are also good.
Expect to see diners sitting around long tables on the lantern-lighted outdoor patio enjoying lasagna, gnocchi, or cannelloni. The proprietor takes pride in her signature dish, fettuccine mare e monte (with mushrooms and shrimp). An accepted piece of local wisdom is that all visitors eventually end up at the Four Lanterns.
