One of Quito's most luxurious accommodations, this hotel is in a lavish mansion dating from the 1930s. A chandelier-lighted stairway leads you upstairs to beautifully decorated rooms with antique four-poster beds. A full American breakfast is included, served in the elegant parlor or on the tile terrace. Museums, restaurants, and shops are steps away. Pros: Friendly staff, historic atmosphere. Cons: Some nighttime crime in neighborhood, some street noise.

This has got to the worst hotel in Quito. The front desk is rude, unhelpful and down right unwelcome.
