Nightlife & The Arts in Quito

Read our Quito nightlife & the arts reviews. Or post your own.

Entertainment Overview

The number of bars and dance clubs has boomed in the past few years, and there are now plenty of salsatecas (for lovers of salsa music) and discotheques. At the peñas (clubs where traditional Andean musicians perform), you can hear traditional Ecuadoran music and drink late into the night with locals.

Quito's arts scene has also grown significantly in the last few years. Check the national paper El Universo, local newspapers El Comercio and Hoy, and English-language newspapers Inside Ecuador and Q (sold in bookstores and at newsstands) for information about theater, concerts, and art exhibits.
