Mítico Puelo Lodge Review

It feels like you have the Patagonia Andes all to yourself at this rustic Puelo Valley retreat that was built in 1991 as a private getaway for fly-fishing enthusiasts, sitting alone on the shores of Tagua Tagua Lake, reached by private boat or plane. (The hotel has its own motorboat, and transfers are included in rates.) In 2010, the process was begun to open the place to guests, and activities like biking, horseback riding, trekking, kayaking and sailing were added to the list. The area has also developed a bit in recent years, with the creation of Tagua Tagua Park in the nearby El Salto Valley and the Puelo Vineyards a few miles upstream, so guests of the lodge can keep busy with a host of excursions, all led by a team of local insiders. Or, you can just wander around the gardens, soak in the views from the deck, and savor the flavorful meals of Patagonian lamb, local veggies, and fresh fish. Rooms are basic and comfortable, with private bathrooms, queen or twin beds, central heating, and Wi-Fi; superior rooms also have terraces, and the one apartment sleeps six in three bedrooms.
