Backpackers make up the majority of the clientele here, but this is no scruffy youth hostel. This modern alerce-shingled house with wood-paneled rooms affords a drop-dead gorgeous view of Volcán Osorno outside town. Armin Dubendorfer and Nadi Muñoz, the eager-to-please Chilean-Swiss couple who own it, will arrange rental cars, guided horseback-riding, hiking, and cycling tours, as well as cheese-fondue evening gatherings. Rates include an excellent buffet breakfast that uses local fruits and dairy products. You also have access to the kitchen.
