Fodor's Expert Review Los Caiquenes Hotel Boutique

This tranquil, high-end boutique hotel on the shore of Lake Llanquihue is just outside of Puerto Varas. With fantastic panoramic views, it's a nice spot to relax and soak in the picturesque beauty of the Puerto Varas area. The building itself is styled like the historic homes of the region, complete with shingles made from the prized native alerce wood. Outside, there is a pool and hot tub for the sunnier days. The rustic atmosphere is warm, elegant, and feels more like a home than a hotel. They recently formed a commercial alliance with the Noi luxury hotel chain in Chile, but the original owners still manage things directly, even cooking the excellent gourmet dinners.
