Maitencillo

This town is a string of cabanas, houses, and eateries spread along the 4-km (3-mile) Avenida del Mar. Two long beaches are separated by an extended rocky coastline that holds the local caleta. To complement the abundant sand and surf, there's a decent selection of restaurants, bars, and accommodations. The windswept coast south of the town is almost completely undeveloped and a magnet for seabirds; it’s also ideal for surfing, paddleboarding, and paragliding.
