Diving

Chile's coastline has several interesting shipwrecks. Two are off the shores of Quintay, including Indus IV, a whaling ship that went down in 1947. There are no dive companies in Quintay, but in nearby Algarrobo, Cinco Oceanos dive operator runs trips to both Quintay shipwrecks. The Santiago-based Poseidon (Av. Andrés Bello 2909, Santiago. 2/231-3597. www.posseidon.cl) arranges dive excursions to the wrecks of Quintay.
