Named after an aristocratic English immigrant and tireless traveler, this long-established hotel with an alpine-inspired facade is on the town's main street; its bright, spacious upstairs lounge is a good people-watching perch. Standard guest rooms are spartan—not much more than a bed, and a bit dark—although the "superior" rooms are bigger, brighter, and have bathtubs.
