Mercado Central Review

There are over a dozen places to eat here. Try La Joya del Pacífico or one of the tiny restaurants—many are little more than a kitchen with a few tables—with names like Marisol or Francisca, around the inner edge of the market. These are where locals and the market workers eat, and the tables may be rickety but the fish couldn't be fresher and cheaper or the service friendlier. Credit cards are accepted at larger restaurants like Donde Augusto and La Joya del Pacífico but not by smaller establishments like Marisol and Francisca. The mercado and its restaurants close at 5 pm.

    Nice decor, decent food, but odors can be a problem

    Yes, it was very hot that day in santiago-38°celsius, but odors can, be a problem while walking thru the market and aqlso while eating.
    very nice crabcake, but cevice just decent and one of the congrio preparation was not very well cooked.
    It was at Donde Augusto.
    Very mediocre desserts.
