Santiago Park Plaza Review

It bills itself as a "classic European-style" hotel, and the receptionists that greet you from behind individual mahogany desks certainly call to mind the Continent. The refined decor, with rich burgundy and cream accents, extends to the adjoining Park Lane restaurant, whose chef masterfully combines international and Chilean cuisine. Although the glass-covered pool on the top floor is tiny, it has a great view.

Friendly staff, and nice, if somewhat small lobby with adjoining restaurant/bar.

Typically small elevators (most I have seen in 6 weeks in Santigao generally fit 4 people or 2 with luggage).

Rooms are of average-to-kinda-big size, quite comfortable, with good amenities, but not "luxury". Good size bathrooms with combination bath/shower.

Based on 8+ years of buisiness travel in the US and Asia Pacific, 3-4 months a year on the road, better than most, but not top-of-the-line.

The pool, as noted, is small. The gym, similar. A small, windowless basement room. If two people beat you thre, come back later. The dry sauna looked new, but did not function.

Many restaurants within easy walking distance and a good grocery store right across the street in a mini-mall with a good variety of shops.

Value is based on a corporate rate, long term stay, so should be adjusted down if paying "standard rates".
