Gravel paths lead you to restful nooks among acres of well-labeled local flora at the Mapulemu Botanical Garden. Some 80 native-Chilean species grow here, including the araucaria, canelo, and macci trees. The botanical star is the squat jubea chilena, the ubiquitous Chilean palm. Every path and stairway seems to bring you to better views of Santiago and the Andes. Sunday mornings there are tai chi, yoga, and aerobics free of charge.
