There's nothing particularly smart about Lomit's, a traditional Chilean restaurant, but it unfailingly serves up some of the city's best barros lucos, steak sandwiches overflowing with melted cheese. You can eat at the long wooden bar and watch the sandwich maker at work, or find a small table to the side (prices are a bit less at the mesón than at the mesas). Black-trimmed red jackets are the everyday attire of the stern-faced waiters, who brighten up when a regular walks through the door. This is an institution, and shouldn't be missed.
