Santiago Restaurants

Fodor's Review

This restaurant's small, two-tiered dining room has soaring ceilings that lend it a dramatic flair, while gleaming floors of alternating stripes of dark and light wood add a touch of contemporary glamour. The service is a breed apart—white-jacketed waiters zip around, attending to your every need. The menu leans toward imaginatively prepared pastas, such as ravioli filled with a trilogy of meats and served with a mushroom sauce. Be sure to leave room for desserts such

as the cioccolatíssimo, a warm chocolate soufflé with melted chocolate inside.

I can't imagine someone not liking this restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, the atmosphere is excellent. I just had lunch there -- and I've been there maybe half a dozen of times. It's a great place.

We liked it -

Food was great - we{re obviously American and our service was very attentive. Only problem is the smoking section is not separate from the non smoking - yuck. Food great!

Exemplary Chilean Service--Not a Compliment

The poor customer service and the downright rudeness of the staff during our meal ruined my anniversary meal with my wife. What was supposed to be a special occassion turned into an aggravating experience. Though we are Santiago residents, we'll never return to Bice. The rudeness of the staff was all the more aggravating given the fawning attention given to other tables, who were clearly spending less than we were. The difference? They were Chilean

and we were foreigners. An all too common problem in Chile: screw the foreigners. The food was fine and the restaurant is comfortable and pleasant. It's quite expensive for what you get. Given the service, we'll never return. For truly great food and service in the same price range go to Astrid y Gaston.
