Café Melba
Café Melba Review
Almost unheard of in Santiago, this storefront restaurant serves breakfast all day. If you're particularly hungry, order "The Works"—baked beans, mushrooms, sausage, and bacon. Drink it down with a caffe latte, served in a large white bowl. The interior is open and airy, with wooden tables scattered about the wood-floored dining room. In warm weather, grab a seat on the covered patio in front. Get here early, as it closes around 6.

An excellent little gem of a place with a breezy atmosphere, relaxed attitude, attentive and friendly staff as well as excellent food. Especially attractive to the long term expat set, this restaurant serves gringo style breakfasts, that are superior to actual gringo breakfasts due to the lack of grease and good presentation. This place is a must if you seek some homey food, well prepared and cheerfully served. Menus available in English and Spanish.
