Suitably bedecked porters open the heavy front doors of this 70-year-old establishment, an art deco landmark. This grande dame is showing her age, but still has some old-fashioned charm. Don't miss the wrought-iron canopy that links the hotel's two wings. The slightly dated rooms are spacious with parquet floors and high ceilings, and bathrooms still have the original large white tubs. Request one of the quieter rooms not facing the street. It's in the heart of downtown, less than a minute from the Plaza de Armas.
