This restaurant inside the Hotel Plaza San Francisco serves inventive dishes like marinated scallops over octopus carpaccio and cold tomato-and-pepper sauce. The restaurant has won several awards and often makes it onto top lists in local media. It's not as bright as it could be and doesn't have much of a view, but what you've got on your plate should make up for it.

Couldn't agree more with the other reviewer. Had the lunch buffet yesterday (at about USD 38, which included drinks). Very poor food, service, prices and atmosphere. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

After seeing the Fodor's recommendation, I was eager to try Bristol. I was severely disappointed when the food was inedible, the service poor, the prices absurd, and the atmosphere about the same as a mall food court. To top it off, the Hotel San Francisco charges an 18% tax on the meal for anyone not staying at the hotel. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
