Farellones Ski Area

Rub shoulders with pro skiers at three world-class ski resorts (El Colorado, La Parva, and Valle Nevado) that lie just outside Santiago near the village of Farellones. A total of 48 lifts carry you to the top of the 1,260 acres of groomed runs. Farellones, with some unremarkable shops, restaurants, and hotels, lies at the base of the Cerro Colorado mountain. Shorten your drive by parking at Curva 17 parking lot of Valle Nevado and taking the gondola up to midmountain from there. All ski areas rent equipment, for about 21,000 (basic) to 25,000 (professional) pesos per day.
