Owned by one of the earliest families to settle in what became the park, Las Torres has a long history, and is the closest hotel to the main trails into the heart of the Torres del Paine itself. Originally an estancia, then a popular hostería, the facility upgraded to a two-night-minimum, all-food-and-excursion-inclusive resort. An extensive lobby bar and restaurant area have a metropolitan feel that belies the hotel's traditional exterior. Stretched across several vast
fields, the location is perfect if you want to day-hike to Mirador Torres, one of the park's highlights. The path starts at the front door, and you'll pass a range of weather-beaten hikers finishing weeklong treks. Don't forget to check out the informative mini-museum with the stuffed ñandú.
