Fodor's Review

A reminder of Chile's recent tragic past—a troubled and frightening era—the Memorial to the Disappeared Prisoners and Executed Politicians of the IV Region is dedicated to the "disappeared" of this area of Chile, who were killed during the Pinochet regime in the 1970s and '80s. More than 60 persons, many of whom died in their early twenties, are listed on the large stone monument.
