Easter Island Sights

Ahu Te Pito Kura

Updated 12/31/1969

Fodor's Review

The largest moai ever successfully erected—a fraction of an inch shorter than the one at Ahu Hanga Tetenga—stands at Ahu Te Pito Kura. Also here is the perfectly round stone (believed to represent the navel of the world) that Hotu Matu'a is said to have brought with him when he arrived on the island.
