Matato'a dance group
Matato'a dance group Review
For a taste of the excitement of the annual Tapati Rapa Nui festival, take in a performance by the Matato'a dance group. Local purists object to its use of modern as well as traditional instruments, but the dances are authentic. The musicians and dancers, especially the men, are excellent. The group currently performs at Avenida Policarpo Toro s/n, just beside the Au Bout du Monde restaurant, but plans to move to the restaurant's second-floor terrace. Tickets cost 10,000 pesos.
