In a picturesque wooden chalet surrounded by herb and cactus gardens, La Charbonnade has two large fireplaces to keep guests warm in the cool winters of Serra Gaúcha. This is the place to try gaúcho-style "fondue," a local gastronomic invention in which you grill lean beef and poultry cuts on a charcoal minigrill on your table, then season your meat with one of 21 sauces. You can also select the wine yourself from the cellar, stocked with a large variety of imported and Brazilian wines.
