The Serra Verde Express
Serra Verde Express. This rail line is geared towards visitors and runs down the Serra do Mar from Curitiba to the port city of Paranaguá—a fabulous 65-km (41-mi) trip descending from 3,300 feet to 17 feet, with views of peaks, vintage rail bridges, waterfalls, and Atlantic rain forest and stops in historic towns. The full route is Sundays only; weekday and Saturday trips end at Morretes, but this covers the most scenic part route.The regular train (5 hours; R$60-R$110) departs Sunday 8 am, returning at 2 pm.
