Forte das Cinco Pontas
Forte das Cinco Pontas Review
The Dutch used mud to build the original five-sided fort in 1630. It was rebuilt in 1677 with stone and mortar; it now only has only four sides, but it has retained its original name. Inside is the Museu da Cidade, where maps and photos illustrate Recife's history. Before becoming a museum, it was used as a military headquarters and a prison.
