Just north of Petrópolis, this is considered by many to be the region's loveliest inn. The grounds have beautiful gardens and a shimmering swimming pool. The kitchen turns out exceptional breakfasts, lunches, and high teas with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. Meals ($-$$$), which include savory pastas, are served in the garden. A pot roast, prepared in a charming farm kitchen, is a must. The hotel grows its own vegetables and herbs. All rooms in the early-20th-century house are cozy and decorated in a rustic style.
