The most helpful contact is the São Paulo Convention and Visitors Bureau, open 9-6. The sharp, business-minded director, Orlando de Souza, speaks English flawlessly and is extremely knowledgeable. Branches of the city-operated Anhembi Turismo e Eventos da Cidade de São Paulo are open daily 9-6.

The bureaucracy-laden Secretaria de Esportes e Turismo do Estado de São Paulo, open weekdays 9-6, is less helpful, but has maps and information about the city and state of São Paulo. SEST also has a booth at the arrivals terminal in Cumbica airport; it's open daily 9 AM-10 PM.
