The center opened in 2012, adding another cultural attraction and architectural highlight to the Vale do Anhangabaú. The venue brings together rehearsal spaces for artistic bodies such as the municipal ballet company, choir, and orchestra, which were previously spread across the city. Occasional music and other events are held in the ground-floor space, which is open to the street, but most of the time the attraction here is simply admiring the fantastic contemporary architecture, which also encompasses a lovely historic building, the old music and drama conservatory.
