Fodor's Review

A group of buildings designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the Latin American Memorial includes the Pavilhão da Criatividade Popular (Popular Creativity Pavilion), which has a permanent exhibition of handicrafts from all over Latin America. The Salão de Atos Building shows the panel Tiradentes, about an independence hero from Minas Gerais, painted by Cândido Portinari in 1949. Regular activities include shows, videos, and films. Ask for an English-speaking guide.
