Fodor's Expert Review Bourbon
Av. Vieira de Carvalho 99, São Paulo, São Paulo, 01210–010, Brazil
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Rich woodwork runs at waist level throughout the halls of this small, classy hotel near Praça da República, just one block away from Largo do Arouche, a bar-lined square that sees a largely gay crowd at night. In each room a wall-length tufted leather cushion serves as headboard, quite comfortable for reading in bed while the city bustles below. The bathrooms are huge cubic rooms flooded with natural light and tiled from floor to ceiling.
PROS
- great location for exploring Centro
- next door to metro
CONS
- small workstations
- Praça da República can be dodgy at night
- the Centro can be noisy
