Fodor's Review

On an island with a giant coconut grove, this grande-dame of Brazilian beach resorts remains a favorite choice for families with kids and golf lovers. The best accommodations are the bungalows—each has a balcony and a hammock. The many activities include fishing and other water sports. An airstrip has charter jet landings from São Paulo every two weeks. The hotel is 70 km (43 miles) south of Ilhéus. Prices listed here are for a full week.
