In front of Leblon Beach and surrounded by designer stores and upmarket restaurants, Marina All Suites is a favorite with chic holidaymakers (Gisele Bundchen and Calvin Klein are regulars). The lofty building is home to 37 spacious suites, and those on the upper floor have each been signed by a different designer. As well as slick design, each of the rooms is equipped with a stereo system, and many have ocean views. The service is superb, and the hotel has some wonderfully eccentric touches such as a home cinema (film requests can be made at reception and will be picked up at no charge from the local rental store). There's also a shared "living room" with lounge and bar, where you can receive friends. At the time of writing, the rooftop pool was being completely overhauled to provide a clearer view of the ocean. The top-floor bar, Bar D'Hotel, is considered one of the best nightlife spots in the area.
