Anchoring one end of Copacabana Beach, this hotel was given a top-to-bottom face-lift in 2000 and is once again one of the best on the strip. The building's H shape gives breathtaking views of the sea, the mountains, or both from the balconies of all rooms. The most reasonably priced rooms face one of the pools opposite the beach. All other units have an ocean view. The first floors are home to Shopping Casino Atlântico, an upscale mall with home accessories, decorative art, and antiques stores. One pool gets the morning sun; the other, afternoon rays. The restaurant Le Pré-Catalan is as good as its Parisian original. Chef Roland Villard, from the French Culinary Academy, is welcoming and creates new dishes every two weeks.
