InterContinental Rio Review

One of the city's few resorts is in São Conrado, on its own slice of beachfront next to the Gávea Golf and Country Club. Attractions include a cocktail lounge, an Italian restaurant (Alfredo), and a buffet with feijoada every Saturday. All rooms have a balcony with ocean view, and all have been recently renovated, with new curtains, carpets, and furnishings. The nearby mall is much less crowded than those with more central locations. The club floor has extra facilities like daily newspapers and a tearoom. One major safety concern is the hotel's proximity to Rocinha, the largest favela in South America.
