Arpoador Inn Review

This simple pocket-size hotel occupies the stretch of sand known as Arpoador. Surfers ride the waves, and pedestrians rule the roadway—a virtually traffic-free street allows direct beach access. At sunset the view from the landmark rock that juts out into the ocean at the end of the beach is one of Rio's most beautiful. The spectacle is visible from the hotel's back (deluxe) rooms that face Arpoador Beach. Avoid the front rooms, which can be noisy. Built in the '70s, the hotel has since been renovated and has a good seafood restaurant, Azul Marinho, on the ground floor overlooking the beach. The restaurant has tables right next to the sand, and guests can choose to take their buffet breakfast here. Some rooms are much larger than others, so specify if you have a preference.
