Housed inside the cool, whitewashed Emporio do Paço Cultural Center, this is a good option for a light lunch. The vegetarian-friendly menu includes a lunchtime salad buffet that incorporates fresh, healthy options, such as carrot salad with oranges, potatoes, and apples. There are various quiches, good sandwiches (we recommend the Bella Italia—eggplant, sundried tomato, and buffalo mozzerella on Italian bread). Carnivores might want to try the beef carpaccio with Gruyère cheese. For sightseeing purposes, the bistro is well placed; close to the Palacio Tirandentes and inside Cultural Center itself.
