Fodor's Review

From Grumari Beach, Estrada de Guaratiba climbs up through dense forest, emerging atop a hill above the vast Guaratiba flatlands. Here you'll come upon this restaurant famed for its moqueca, the traditional seafood stew. Other standards on the seafood-focused menu are lobster and grilled beefsteak, while the passion-fruit caipirinha is nearly flawless. With its shady setting, colorful flora, and glorious vistas, this is a fine spot for an early lunch after a morning on the beach and before an afternoon visit to the Sítio Roberto Burle Marx or the Museu Casa do Pontal. Or come here in the early evening to catch the spectacular sunset.
