Casa do Ouvidor Review
This large and welcoming restaurant above a jewelry store has won numerous awards for its regional dishes like tutu, feijão tropeiro, and frango com quiabo. The portions are generous and the restaurant often gets crowded, try to sit by the windows with a view of the street below. The owner restored this once-crumbling 18th-century building to its former appearance. Since the restaurant's opening in 1972, it has hosted such luminaries as former President of France François Mitterand, Richard Dreyfuss, Henry Kissinger, and John Updike.
