Fodor's Review

The Mercado Municipal is a great place to try sopa paraguaia (Paraguayan soup), which, despite its name, is a corn pie with cheese, onions, and spices. There are many shops selling handicrafts from native peoples of Mato Grosso. The market is open daily 6.30–8 (except for Sunday, when it closes at noon).
