Train Travel

Bolivia’s great train services all died years ago, and the country is now crisscrossed only by rusty rails. There is still transport between Oruro and towns near the border like Uyuni, Tupiza, and Villazon. There’s also occasional service from Uyuni to Calama, Chile, though it’s a long, rough, high, and cold ride. The classic ride from La Paz to Arica on the coast of Chile stopped running many years ago. Check what’s going on at https://www.ticketsbolivia.com/train-tickets.php.
