Getting Here and Around

You can fly direct to Tarija from La Paz or Santa Cruz, or if you are already in the neighborhood in Sucre then it's a day's bus trip. The overland journey from La Paz is epic, and not recommended. Once you are in the city, walking is a good option. It's not large, and you won't have the inconveniences of La Paz's altitude or Santa Cruz's heat.
