La Paz has a small selection of cinemas showing mainstream releases, but Cinemateca is the best place to see both these and art-house stuff. As well as having the most comfortable seats and best equipment, it is also a library of Bolivian film and an exhibition space, the whole thing housed in a stunning new building.
