Algodón Wine Estates Lodge
Algodón Wine Estates Lodge Review
This resort, about 20 minutes from downtown San Rafael, is a tranquil refuge that offers wine tastings from their on-site bodega, golf, world-class tennis courts (clay, grass, and hard-court), and a great restaurant. There are eight bedrooms, five within the lodge, and three in a remodeled villa built in 1920. Each room either has a fireplace or a woodstove, and all rooms have their own patio. Take a siesta under ancient olive trees, or relax with a glass of wine by the lovely pool. Service is friendly and super-personalized, and the staff can help you plan other wine tours, bicycling, rafting, or even extensive excursions deep into the nearby Andes if you are feeling adventurous. If you fall in love with it there, you can always purchase your own vineyard lot towards the back of the property. For now the lodge is closed in the winter months, but that may change in the near future.
