Fodor's Review

"The Land of Legends" is a honeymooners' delight; it sweeps up awards often, meaning the secret's out, but this adorable B&B run by Sebastian and Maria still bears their personal touch down to the family photos on the walls. The hotel is in the Estancia Río Pipo, on a wind-battered hill 4 km (2½ miles) west of town, in an area once inhabited by canoeist nomads, but it's now being encroached on by the expanding city. The seven bedrooms—with names such as La Coqueta and La Mision—boast large windows facing the Beagle Channel or the snow-capped Andes, with soft, luxurious beds and charming photos of old shipwrecks; a cozy living room offers a book exchange, board games, video library, and glass display tables with antique arrows, bones, and currency. The restaurant has a top-notch gourmet menu—offering such exotic fare as conejo a la cazadora (stuffed rabbit) or seafood au gratin—prepared by the owner.

La Tierra de Leyendas Review

Sorry for the late post. We stayed here in March of 2009 for two nights. All arrangements by fax and email. Hosts and staff were magnificent. English is spoken. No language barrier. By email, host arranged for car to pick us up at airport, no fee. As soon as we entered, DW said "Oh, wow!" I knew we had a winner. Botique hotel located in an upscale residential area. View of Beagle Chanel and mountains is stunning, and we never got tired of the

view. Rooms are named, ours was Las Yamanas, named after the local indigenous people. A large room, comfy bed and a "wow" bathroom. We voted the best hotel we stayed in during our 3 weeks in South America. Hotel arranged for the delivery of a rental car, saving a trip back to the airport. We drove to Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego for a nice day trip. Sebastian, the owner and chef, prepared a wonderful dinner our first night. They had noticed on our passports during check in that it was my birthday, so that night we were surprised with a white chocolate mousse cake, what a nice touch. Great meal. Breakfasts were about average for B&B's. We had a wonderful stay here, and still like to pull out the pictures of the view from our room. Highly recommend.
