Perito Moreno

Perito Moreno

Perito Moreno is a dusty little crossroads outpost, with little to capture a visitor's attention for more than a day. Most travelers arrive in the evening and depart the next morning, en route between the Lake District and the glaciers of the far south. The main reason to stick around is to visit the nearby Cueva de las Manos, a World Heritage archeological site with rock paintings that are up to 9,000 years old. If headed south to El Chaltén, where there are no banks, stock up on cash before leaving Perito Moreno.
